10 Days – Ruaha, Selous / Zanzibar

Overview

This 10-day adventure seamlessly combines thrilling wildlife experiences with the relaxation of Zanzibar’s beaches. Start with an overnight stay at either the New Africa Hotel or Serena Hotel in Dar es Salaam. On the second day, fly to Ruaha National Park and enjoy game drives while staying at the Ruaha River Lodge. Spend a full day on safari in Ruaha before flying to Selous Game Reserve, where you will stay at Rufiji River Camp and engage in game drives, walking safaris, and boat rides. After another day of exploring Selous, fly to Zanzibar for an overnight stay at the Zanzibar Ocean View Resort or Zanzibar Serena Hotel, with optional Stone Town tours. Head to the beaches of Nungwi or the south-east coast for a few days of relaxation at Amaan Beach Bungalows, Emerald Dreams of Zanzibar, or Bluebay Beach Resort. Conclude your journey with a speedboat ride back to Dar es Salaam, a brief city tour, and a farewell dinner with panoramic city views, before catching your flight home.

Day by Day Plan

Day 1

Arrive Dar airport, meet and transfer to New Africa Hotel or Serena Hotel for overnight Bed/breakfast.

Day 2

Transfer to the airport for Coastal flight to Ruaha leaving at 8.00 am. On Arrival in Ruaha, clients will be met and transferred to Ruaha River Lodge. Game drives and fullboard at the lodge.

Day 3

Fullboard at Ruaha River Lodge with game drives.

Day 4

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for flight to Selous Game reserve. On arrival meet and transfer to Rufiji River Camp with game drives/walking/boat Rides with fullboard accommodation.

Day 5

Boat/walking/game drives in Selous with fullboard at Rufiji River Camp.

Day 6

Transfer to the airstrip for midmorning flight to Dar, connect and fly to Zanzibar, on arrival, meet and transfer to Zanzibar Ocean View Resort or Zanzibar Serena Hotel for Overnight bed/breakfast. Stone town tour or any other excursion at clients discretion and expense.

Day 7

Transfer to the north east coast of Nungwi, Amaan Beach Bungalows or Emerlad Diamond Dreams of Zanzibar With halfboard accommodation or south east coast to Bluebay beach Resort.

Day 8

Amaan Beach Bungalows/ Emerlad Dreams of Zanzibar or Bluebay on halfboard basisi.

Day 9

Amaan Beach Bungalows/Emerlad Dreams of Zanzibar or Bluebay halfboard accommodation.

Day 10

After lunch transfer to the port for the last speed boat to Dar leaving at 4.00 pm arriving Dar at 5.30 pm. Meet for a short city tour. Dinner at New Africa Hotel roof top restaurant with panoramic view of all Dar city. Transfer to the airport for late flight home (presumably KLM).
